Although podcasts had been attempted in the past at The Shorthorn, I took charge as the first podcast producer of the publication to carry on the legacy of "The Shorthorn Round Up," a daily news podcast elaborating on the day's top headlines. Our special Valentine's Day Edition. Ariana Vera, The Shorthorn life and entertainment editor, shares affordable date options in the Metroplex, for her series, "Flirty Under $30."
We discuss how the holiday is celebrated in other countries; how love is also found in the sport of tennis with help from Edgar Estrada, a sports reporter for The Shorthorn. Lastly, we sit down with Gina Mancino, nursing sophomore and CommUNITY Voices Columnist about the importance of balancing self-love while in a relationship.

In Episode 97, we share details about terroristic threats that affected Arlington High School on Tuesday. Sorayah Zahir, The Shorthorn digital managing editor, provides insight to the topic of safety following the recent shooting in Florida. We also sit down with Kyle Cotton, The City of Arlington reporter, to deliberate a lawsuit brought against the city by a union representing the city's firefighters.

In Episode 125, we learn from reporter Samantha Douty about an alumna who hopes her efforts will halt the removal of an 82-year-old residence hall from campus. We also discuss student concerns and questions presented at Pizza with the President on Monday, with reporter Kyle Cotton.

In today's episode, we dissect the possibility of a celebrity running for President of the United States; give construction updates of the Science and Engineering Innovation and Research Building and other projects on campus; and sit down with Narda Perez, The Shorthorn editor-in-chief, on her goals for the semester.

March 30, 2018

In Episode 118, multimedia journalist Marangeli Lopez gives us a sneak preview of a performance by Rise A Cappella, UTA's co-ed a cappella group, who will perform at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Southwest Semifinals on Saturday. After, we will discuss with reporter Colby Farr about a recent study by a UTA professor that linked disclosure of childhood abuse to suicide ideation later in life.

April 20, 2018

In Episode 133, Maxwell Hilliard, life and entertainment reporter, tells us about local record shops to visit for National Record Store Day on Saturday. Multimedia journalist Mara Lopez surprises us with news regarding The Shorthorn's coverage of Rise A Cappella at its international competition in New York. Copy editor Chanel Sassoon shares her experience working on her Honors Senior Project and offers tips to prospective honors students.

In Episode 81, we learn from Colin Rockwood, The Shorthorn College of Engineering beat reporter, about a philosophy senior who also serves as CEO of the startup company, SolGro. Shay Cohen, The Shorthorn opinion editor, also shares his thoughts about the sentencing of Larry Nassar, the former U.S.A Gymnastics National Team doctor and osteopathic physician at Michigan State University.
